그랬던 그 기질이 슬금슬금 기어나오는 모양이다. 모든 걸 '쫌만 있다 생각해 보자' 그러고 앉아있다.
지금도 그러고 앉아있다...
예전에 무척 재밌게 봤었던 영화 중에 플레전트빌(PleasantVille,1998)이라는 것이 있었다.
모범생 오빠(토비 맥과이어. 스퍼이더맨은 예전부터 모범생이었다)와 날라리 여동생이 흑백TV 안으로 빨려들어가게 된다.
여동생 덕분에 순수하기 짝이 없던 TV속 흑백세상은 점차 '속세'에 물들어가면서 컬러가 입혀지기 시작한다.
순수하지만 고리타분한 흑백과 자유분방하고 혼돈스러운 컬러가 대립하는 이야기...
설정이나 스토리가 무척 참신했던 영화였던 걸로 기억한다.
그리고 그 OST 중에서 Fiona Apple이 불렀던 'Across The Universe'가 잊혀지지 않는다.
차분하면서도 여린 보컬이 전해주는 미세한 떨림은 비틀즈의 원곡과는 전혀 다른 느낌이다.
뮤직비디오 역시 굉장히 인상깊다.
부서지고 폭주하는 난동 속에서 찬찬히 곡을 밟아가는 그녀를 보고 있으면 오히려 음악이 더 잘 들려온다.
게다가 묘한 중독성으로 보고 또 보고 또 듣고 있게된다.
영화와 음악과 뮤직비디오가 다들 안어울릴듯 하면서도 그냥 '꼬리에 꼬리를 물고' 떠오른다...
