2005년에 자우림이 내놓은 '청춘예찬'은 참 재미있는 리메이크 앨범이다.
필 콜린스의 'Another Day in Paradise'와 데이빗 보위의 'Starman'은
원곡의 느낌이 많이 살아있으면서도 김윤아의 보컬 덕에 참신한 느낌이다.
'누구라도 그러하듯이'는 작정하고 락으로 바꿔 버렸다.
너바나의 'Penny Royal Tea'는 완전히 다른 곡이 되어 버렸다.
안그래도 어두운 곡인데 자우림 버전은 암울의 극치다.
자신들의 곡을 리메이크한 '새'도 마찬가지..
지미 헨드릭스나 펄 잼, 오지 오스본 같은 양반들이 모여있는데
마돈나의 'Take a Bow'는 좀 쌩뚱맞는 느낌이 들었지만 자우림 버전도 쬐끔은 에로틱하다.
좋아하는 가수는 뭔 짓을 해도 좋아보이는걸까..
자우림의 리메이크 앨범은 마냥 훌륭하다.
